So School is out!!!! What big plans do you have for the summer??? How do you keep your kids occupied??? So excited for the vacations we have scheduled!!!! What is your favorite vacation spot? Are you a mountains person or beach person...we are certainly both!!

My son had his D.A.R.E. graduation today at his school and this song was played during the slideshow. I thought it was very empowering and it "spoke" to me.  It was a fantastic message to the kids too!! You can do anything...be anything...and conquer anything!! The best thing you can be is you and as long as you are doing your best at that well...that's that you can do!!! Be empowered!!! Be great!!! And most importantly...DON'T stop being you!!

I love that both of children love art. They both love crafting with me. If I paint...they paint. My son loves Art at school. He creates such amazing things!  He has some emotional issues and I often use art as a way to keep him calm or to calm him down if he is having an episode. If he doesn't want to talk about what is bothering him he will often just draw or color to get his feelings out. I think it is very important for kids to be heard and sometimes they need a little help getting their words out! Art is an expression of yourself! Don't be afraid! Get messy! Feeling angry...get the clay out and create! Feeling a little blue...draw or color! Art is get therapy...try it...I bet you will be amazed!

Some of my son's art from school!

I love crafting with my kids!! They are always so excited and full of great imagination. The picture above is a bird house that she created.  It started just as a few wooden scraps that we had laying around.  She painted them and then I put on the poly so that it could be kept safe outside!! When we asked her what she wanted to do with her painted pieces she said that we needed a bird house!! So we got creative and used a half gallon jug cut open and glued and nailed her pieces together to create her beautiful bird house!!!While it is not "Squirrel Proof" lol...the birds do enjoy eating from it!!! It is simple little things that you can do with your kids. Let them be creative and use their imagination. Don't be afraid of a little mess!!! Messes can be fun too and a learning experience too!!!
